FOTC (Flags Of The Confederacy) is a site devoted to Confederate vexillology. Here you can read about the numerous flags of the government and armed forces of the Confederate States of America, and view many images of those flags. The site is fed with news and images posted by a team of vexillologists who specialise in the study of Confederate flags. The contributors and the Editorial Staff work at FOTC for free. The contents of these pages are freely offered to the Internet community. Before accessing this site please read our disclaimers and copyright rules.

Our flag is at half-mast, in loving memory of Howard Michael Madaus, who passed from this life on Saturday, 21 July 2007.

Requiem aeternum dona eo, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat eo. Requeiscat in pace. Amen.

Howard was a Catholic. A Mass for the repose of his soul was offered on Tuesday, 24 July 2007, by Rev. James Norman Miller of St. Mary of the Seven Sorrow's Catholic Church in Nashville, Tennessee. St. Mary's was the original Cathedral of the Diocese of Nashville. It was dedicated on 31 October 1847, and is the oldest standing church in Nashville. Among the priests who served at St. Mary's was Father Abram J. Ryan, the "Poet Priest of the Confederacy" and author of The Conquered Banner.

The funeral for Howard Michael Madaus will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cody, Wyoming, at 10:00 a.m. (MDT), on Saturday, 28 July 2007.
